The firm was originally owned by the Springer Family and was located on Alamosa's Main Street. The Lorton Family moved to it's present location and served the community until 1952 when Kenneth Butler who purchased the Lorton firm and Robert Showalter who owned Park Lawn Funeral Home, combined their two firms into Butler-Showalter Chapel. The Rogers family purchased the business in 1983 and changed the name in 1997. The firm also has a branch chapel in Manassa Colorado (Birthplace of Jack Dempsey) which dates back to the 1920's when the Haynie Family owned the business. The Rogers Family consisting of J. Michael Rogers, MSP/CFSP, Kathleen J. Rogers LPN, Certified Bereavement Facilitator, and Life Appreciation Training recipient, and Kevin Rogers, MSP and recent graduate of the BS program at Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science continue to provide the families they serve with the highest standard of funeral service ranging from full traditional services to cremation, pre-need planning, and monuments.
